Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply to your use of the DSE Music Tuition website and services. By using our site, booking lessons, or purchasing streamed content, you agree to these terms. Different terms apply depending on how you learn with us — jump to the ones relevant to you:

Private lesson terms

Fees & cancellation. Lessons are charged at $35.50per 30-minute lesson. Enrolments are a weekly booking, and we require 4 hours' notice for cancellations or the full lesson fee applies. If more than 4 hours' notice is given, there is no charge for the cancellation.

Most other schools and teachers require 24 hours' notice, so we feel 4 hours is reasonable.

Notifying cancellations & changes. All notice of cancellation (sickness, holiday, etc.) or requests to alter or reschedule lessons must be directed to DSE Music Tuition admin staff, not to your teacher. Teachers' schedules are set by the company, and any absence or change needs to be addressed via our booking staff. Failure to notify admin of an absence or cancellation will incur the full lesson fee.

We are happy to be contacted 24/7 via email or text, and by phone during normal business hours.

Payment & billing. Payment is due on the day of the lesson (or within 24 hours). While most music schools and teachers bill in advance for a month or a term, DSE Music Tuition bills weekly, on the day of your lesson. All billing and payment is via electronic invoice, sent on the morning of your lesson via email and text — so it is important that we have a working, monitored email address for you. We cannot accept cash at lessons. Accounts that remain unpaid after 48 hours default to overdue status.

Overdue status: lessons are suspended. We will attempt to contact you to bring the account up to date (via email and text), but due to demand for places and lengthy waiting lists, accounts that reach 5 days overdue may be cancelled to make the place available to those on the waiting list. If there are extenuating circumstances causing you difficulty paying, please contact us to discuss — we are happy to assist anyone having difficulties.

Payment methods.Payment can be made online via the 'Pay now' button on your invoice, using your credit card. All payments and card details are processed through the Pin Payments secure payment gateway; DSE Music Tuition does not take or store any credit-card details. Alternatively, your invoice includes bank details, so you can make a transfer or deposit, or set up a weekly payment through your bank.

In-school lesson terms

Invoicing. DSE Music Tuition issues invoices on the day of the lesson via email and text message.

The app that forwards our emails as texts may not always work — please make sure you check your email, including your 'Junk' folder, for invoices.

Cancellation. We require notice prior to 8:30am for cancellations (absence or unavailability for any reason, including illness, excursion, camp, sports day, etc.) or the full lesson fee applies. Please advise our admin staff — not your teacher or the school — via 0416 586 483 or info@dsemusic.com.au.

Lesson times. To fit everyone into a school day, we rotate students' lesson times. This means that once or twice a term a student will have a lesson during recess or lunch, and students should be aware that they may be called to the office for their lesson.
